THE SIKH MAN who removed his turban to save a five-year-old boy’s life has been rewarded for his act of kindness.
Men of the Sikh religion are required to keep their heads covered by turbans at all times in public – but 22-year-old Harman Singh said he didn’t think twice about removing his turban to help.
Singh was hailed as a hero online, and now his community in New Zealand has banded together to repay him for the good deed.
Neighbours noticed during TV interviews that Singh’s home was rather sparse, so together with One News, they contacted a local furniture store.
A van full of household good was delivered to his flat – along with six months’ supply of Domino’s Pizza.
An emotional Singh accepted the gifts, saying, “It’s the biggest surprise of my life.”
